Susan G. Komen for the Cure Celebrates Breast Cancer Survivors and Co-Survivors
The Southern Nevada Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure will be honoring breast cancer survivors and co-survivors at their Survivor Celebration Luncheon at the Rio All-Suite Hotel on Saturday, March 15, 2008. “With more than 2.3 million breast cancer survivors living in America today, we recognize the importance of honoring these courageous individuals in our community and celebrating the power of society and science to save lives” said Jackie Brown, the Southern Nevada Affiliate’s Executive Director.
The event will include inspirational guest speaker, Kelly Corrigan, author of “The Middle Place” and breast cancer survivor, who will read excerpts from her new book and share her spirited, and often humorous, battle with this disease. Kelly was recently interviewed on The Today Show and her book, “The Middle Place” is currently featured in Glamour, Good Housekeeping, Family Circle, and Elle Magazine.
The Survivor Celebration Luncheon will be emceed by Dave and Dana, hosts of the Smooth Jazz 105.7 Morning Show and will include a delicious lunch, an appearance by the Chippendales, a special gift, and more surprise entertainment. The luncheon proves to be an emotional and memorable event that you won’t want to miss.
