How to Fundraise

Fundraising is easy with online fundraising tools! Once you register for the Race you automatically receive your own online Participant Center which can be accessed by logging-in. Your Participant Center contains tools for tracking donations, sending emails, and most importantly, editing your personal web page. Your personal web page is viewable by others so you can use it to communicate why you are a Race participant and encourage family, friends and others to make an online donation directly to you via your personal web page.

Fundraising Steps

1. Register for the Race and set your fundraising goal. If you want to jump start your fundraising, make a donation when you register.
2. Log in to your Participant Center and edit your personal web page. If you are a team captain, edit your team page as well! Explain why you are fundraising, for example in honor of a relative who is a Survivor or in memory of someone who has passed away from breast cancer...or perhaps you simply want to see some of these breast cancer statistics change, especially in YOUR hometown.
3. Next encourage everyone you know to visit your personal and/or team web page. Ask them to read your story and to join the fight against breast cancer by making a donation on your behalf.
4. Remember these key talking points when making the ask:

• Did you know that 75 percent of the funds raised in Southern Nevada, stays in Southern Nevada? The Komen Southern Nevada Affiliate provides funding to local non-profit healthcare organizations which provide breast health services for the underserved men and women in Clark, Nye, Lincoln, Esmeralda, White Pine and Mineral counties. The remaining 25 percent goes to the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Grants Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research.
• Donations to the Komen Southern Nevada Affiliate are tax deductible to the full extent the law allows.
• Many employers will match charitable donations! Be sure to check with your company's HR department for details.

Cash/Check Offline Donations

Cash/checks can be mailed to our office, dropped off on Race day or turned in at the office. Regardless, a Race Pledge Form must be included with any cash or check donations so we know whom to credit the donation.
