Grants

In more than 18,000 communities across the U.S., more than 75,000 Susan G. Komen volunteers work to help fund breast cancer education, screening and treatment projects for those who need it most. Last year, Komen Affiliates—working in concert with local organizations—awarded more than $93 million in needs-based community grants. That's in addition to the many millions Komen invests each year in promising research

The Southern Nevada Affiliate of Susan G. Komen along with those who generously support us with their talent, time and resources—is working to better the lives of those facing breast cancer in our local community. Through events like the Komen Southern Nevada Race for the Cure, we have invested $6.6 million in local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects in Clark, Nye, Lincoln, White Pine, Mineral and Esmeralda Counties. Up to 75 percent of net proceeds generated by the Komen Southern Nevada Affiliate stay in the local community. The remaining income goes to the Susan G. Komen Southern Nevada funds non-duplicative, responsive, and collaborative community health grants for breast health education, breast cancer screening, treatment, and support services for the uninsured and medically underserved in the local community. In 2014, the Affiliate funded more than $600,000 for projects in Southern Nevada. For a complete list of current grantees and a description of their breast health programs, click here.

Any non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that provides breast health and/or breast cancer services, and is located in or providing services within Clark, Nye, Lincoln, Esmeralda, White Pine, and Mineral Counties may apply for a grant from the Southern Nevada Affiliate.

In addition to community health grants, the Komen Southern Nevada Affiliate is currently offering small grants up to $5,000 to support breast health education projects, conference grants, travel scholarships, and rural access grants. For more information, click here.

Please note: The Southern Nevada Affiliate of Susan G. Komen does not provide funds directly to individuals for screening or treatment. We do not determine individual eligibility, make referrals or influence the screening or treatment decisions of the organizations that we fund.
