2nd Annual Dancing with the Las Vegas Stars

Susan G. Komen for the Cure Southern Nevada® is a proud participant in a collaboration of five cancer-fighting organizations and five local celebrities who will battle it out on the dance floor Sunday, August 14 from 2:00pm–5:00pm in the glamorous nightclub Rain, located inside the Palms Hotel & Casino.

The second annual “Dancing with the Las Vegas Stars” fundraiser is based on the hit ABC television show. Each charity will have a star dancing on their behalf, competing in a ballroom dance competition. Tickets are $50 per person and include a glass of wine and hors d’ouevres.

Audience members and the public may show their support by voting for their favorite charity/dancer. Votes are a $2 donation, unlimited, and may be purchased, along with event tickets, at the event or by visiting www.dancingwiththelasvegasstars.com. You may also purchase tickets at the Komen Office by check or cash. All checks must be made out to Candlelighters who are acting as the fiscal agent for this event.

Komen's celebrity dancer is...Lauren Michaels! This isn't Lauren's first rodeo when it comes to dancing as she attended the Royal Academy of Ballet at age 10 (she danced with the academy for 4 years).  After high school she started her radio career working for Radio Disney in Atlanta, GA.  She's been addicted to radio every since working in Bakersfield, Santa Rosa, San Francisco and now Las Vegas with Chet Buchanan and the Morning Zoo on 98.5 KLUC. Lauren is OBSESSED with Dancing with the Stars (she's in LOVE with Max) and is thrilled to be part of Dancing with the Las Vegas Stars. We are so happy to have Lauren representing Susan G. Komen for the Cure, so make sure you log on and vote for her!

DJ’s Chet Buchanan from 98.5 KLUC and Steph MacKenzie from 97.1 The Point, past participants in Dancing with the Las Vegas Stars, will co-host the second-year event.
